Some software that is useful in dealing with BF2:
- BF2RA : Simple and easy to use Battlefield 2 Remote Administrator, works on ranked and unranked servers.
- QStat : A command-line utility for querying practically any kind of game server for its status, including BF2 servers. Because it runs from the command-line, can easily be used to by programs written in Perl, PHP, etc.
- Wirehark : Ethernet packet sniffer and decoder. Very useful for determining why communications aren't working. Wireshark was formerly known as Ethereal.
- BF2CC : Remote server admin tool and more for BF2, still under development.
- BF2 Key Hasher : Windows utility for generating hash of the BF2 CD key. It also finds your profileID, and can generate keyhashes for BF1942 and BFV.
- BF2 Python Log : Utility for retrieving stdout and stderr from the BF2 standalone server. Outputs in real-time, very useful for debugging.
- BF2RCON : Remote server admin tool web interface.
- BF2 Remote Server Manager with ModManager support : Remote server management tool for BF2, does not require anything to be installed on the server.
- NVIDIA Texture Tools : Utilities for working with .dds texture files
